Prayer

The monthly Prayer Meeting is on the first Thursday of each month, at 8.15pm in John Bunyan Room, and lasts just over 1 hour.

Come at least once if only to see what you are missing!

Why prayer?

Because Jesus taught us to pray each day, in the Lords Prayer which asks for daily bread. (Matt 6.11).

Jesus also taught us the effectiveness of prayer. "I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark.11.24.

Why pray together?

Because Jesus taught us to pray together. "For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them." (Matt.18.19).

So we do come together, read the Bible to hear God speaking to us, sing and offer prayers: for St Michaels, for our country, and for the wider world.

Perhaps it sounds like an activity for the experienced few. But actually it is a place to learn to pray and to meet with God in a deeper and extended way.
